Volunteers from Rebuilding Together affiliates from across the country and from our partner organizations have come to New Orleans to make a difference in the lives of their fellow citizens, who are still suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The volunteer experience is a rewarding one, and one that volunteers will remember for a lifetime.  Whatever their skill level, volunteers will be making a worthwhile contribution towards rebuilding someone’s home.  They may be performing tasks such as painting, scraping, landscaping, drywalling, taping, cleaning, installing appliances, and tiling.

Volunteers are supervised by skilled Rebuilding Together staff members.  They are always given instructions on how to do an unfamiliar task, and are never asked to do something they are uncomfortable with.  Water, refreshments and first aid kits are always onsite.
