Townhouses can be found in various types. The all have two or more stories and gave New Orleanians the ability to have more space without taking up a large piece of land. One type, a double-gallery townhouse, has two stories and galleries across the front façade on both levels. Townhouses can also be seen in different styles including Greek revival, Italianate sidehall, and American.
