Ms. Alice Cousin, 81 was born and raised in the Hollygrove neighborhood. She inherited her house from her parents and raised her son and daughter in Hollygrove. She has memories of wonderful days she had with her family who also lived in the area. Ms Cousin is an amazing woman with a great sense of humor who is always ready for a good conversation.

After Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Cousin moved to Dallas for three months. She returned to find her home of over 50 years, experienced three feet of flooding and has not been able to return to her home since. Ms. Cousin, who is wheelchair bound due to health issues, is the care-taker for her granddaughter Angela who suffers from Cerebral Palsy.

Ms. Cousin needs $60,000 to make the necessary repairs on her home, but she only received $18,000 in Road Home assistance.
