Dear Timberland,

After your generous shipment of boots arrived last Friday, many of our staff breathed a sigh of relief. Working at a non-profit home repair organization, RTNO team members put their shoes to the test every day—stepping on nails, carrying heavy supplies, and avoiding falling debris.

This jewelry holder is made from a salvaged picture frame and a scrap of door screen. The project took about 10 minutes and included cutting, then stapling the screen to the backside of the frame.

Every week Rebuilding Together New Orleans works alongside a different and diverse cast of volunteers. They come together in the mission to revitalize New Orleans, but no two volunteers are the same. Come meet a few of these heroes and learn what makes them unique.

It all started with Christmas in October, an event that brought together local volunteers to help add value to their own communities by rebuilding houses and revitalizing neighborhoods. Since 1988, Rebuilding Together New Orleans has existed to organize this event.
