Rebuilding Together New Orleans and Lowe’s are teaming up to make this holiday season a little greener for two New Orleans families

Since it launched following Hurricane Katrina and the federal floods, Rebuilding Together New Orleans has rebuilt more than 260 homes with the help of 14,672 volunteers putting in 316,555 hours of work.

For three years after Hurricane Katrina displaced him from his Gentilly home, Adolph Christmas worked at a hotel in Lafayette. During his shifts, he often found himself on the east side of the building’s third floor, where the windows looked out onto Interstate 10.

As the holiday season swiftly approaches, the inevitable question of “What gifts should I give?’ seems to be inescapably on everyone’s mind.

On a beautiful fall day in November volunteers came together to bring new life to Norwood Thompson playground in Gert Town. The project was sponsored by a generous grant from Entergy and is part of a holistic approach to neighborhood revitalization.

With the holidays rapidly approaching, RTNO staff and corp members would like to share their favorite recipes and memories with RTNO’s extended family donors, volunteers and homeowners.
