A Lovely Day in the Neighborhood

I had never seen a neighborhood map of New Orleans until my first day of work at Rebuilding Together New Orleans. This would be an otherwise unsurprising revelation for many, save for the fact that I am a New Orleans native.

George and Barbra Hansell, New Orleans natives, purchased their home in the Gentilly neighborhood in 1996. They lived there happily for nearly ten years until Hurricane Katrina flooded their home with eight feet of water.
