Impact
New Orleans / Community
Rooted here. Working block by block.
Rebuilding Together New Orleans exists because this city matters. Our work is grounded in the belief that safe, healthy housing is essential to preserving the culture, history, and stability of New Orleans neighborhoods. When homeowners can remain safely in their homes, communities stay intact.
New Orleans faces unique housing challenges. Aging housing stock, recurring storms, rising costs, and generational property ownership create vulnerabilities that put longtime residents at risk of displacement.
We focus on protecting the people who anchor neighborhoods — older adults, veterans, people with disabilities, caregivers, and single-parent households — by making critical repairs that prevent further deterioration and unsafe living conditions.
Keeping residents in their homes strengthens the entire block.
Why We Do IT.
Community-Led, Partner-Powered
Our work does not happen in isolation. We collaborate with:
Local nonprofits and community organizations
Faith-based institutions
Government agencies
Corporate partners
Volunteers from across the region
By concentrating efforts in targeted neighborhoods, we amplify impact and support long-term stability, not just one-time repairs.
Beyond the Individual Home
While critical home repair is at the center of what we do, our impact reaches further. Through disaster response, neighborhood-focused revitalization efforts, and the Resiliency Center, we help strengthen the broader systems that support New Orleans families.
Housing stability is community stability.
A City Worth Investing In
For more than three decades, we have worked to preserve existing housing, protect vulnerable homeowners, and contribute to a stronger, more resilient New Orleans.
Because rebuilding homes is also about protecting culture, legacy, and belonging.
