Process & FAQs
How it Works: Your guide to applying, qualifying, and getting repairs done.
Rebuilding Together New Orleans focuses on critical health and safety repairs for eligible homeowners in Orleans Parish. Here’s how the process works from start to finish.
1. Initial Contact
Reach out to our team to start the conversation.
Email: info@rtno.org
Call or text: (504) 264-1815
Please allow up to one week for a response due to high volume.
2. Pre-Screening
Our staff reviews basic eligibility (homeownership, income, household criteria) before moving forward. This helps make sure we’re a good fit for what you need.
3. Application & Documentation
If pre-screening looks good, we’ll send you an application and a list of documents to verify:
Ownership status
Income eligibility
Household status (age, disability, etc.)
4. Assessment
Once your application is complete, our team will schedule a home assessment to determine the scope of work needed for safe, healthy repairs.
5. Service Match & Scheduling
If you qualify and there is capacity/funding available, we will match you with the appropriate repair services and schedule your work with our crew and volunteers.
6. Repair Work
Repairs focus strictly on critical health and safety needs inside and outside the home. We do not provide full home rebuilds, demolition, or major structural overhauls.
