Rebuilding Together New Orleans runs a suite of programs that extend our mission beyond individual home repairs into community revitalization, disaster response, and targeted initiatives that foster resilience and empowerment across New Orleans. From large-scale volunteer efforts to year-round partnership work, each program is designed to improve safety, stability, and opportunity for neighbors in need.

[Re]Buider Month
A signature community build with big impact.
Rebuilding Together’s annual [Re]Builder Month brings hundreds of volunteers together to complete critical safe-and-healthy home repairs for multiple families in just a few weekends. Rooted in the tradition of “neighbors helping neighbors,” this blitz build strengthens both individual homes and neighborhood spirit through focused, concentrated effort.
Disaster Recovery
When storms strike, we stand ready.
RTNO has a deep history of disaster response, completing more than 1,000 home rebuilds after Hurricane Katrina and now continuing that commitment after subsequent storms. We work alongside community leaders and disaster partners to help families return home safely and rebuild with dignity. Current efforts include enhanced roofing projects and support for neighboring bayou region communities.
FORTIFIED™ Roofing
Roof systems built to protect.
Your roof is your first defense against the elements. For qualifying homeowners, RTNO upgrades roofs to FORTIFIED™ standards, enhancing durability and resilience against severe weather. Since 2023, we’ve brought FORTIFIED roofing upgrades to more than 100 homes in the Greater New Orleans area.
She Builds
Empowering women through repair and revitalization.
She Builds focuses on community projects that support women and their families. This program includes critical home repairs for women in need, revitalization of community spaces that serve women, and hands-on training to boost skills and confidence in maintaining a safe, healthy home.
Build & Boil
Service, community, and crawfish for a cause.
Part service day and part neighborhood celebration, Build and Boil brings volunteers together for hands-on repairs then heats up the block with a crawfish boil event. The day raises funds and community energy while supporting essential home repair work. In recent events, dozens of volunteers helped homeowners and raised nearly $40,000 for future projects.
